Monochrome

Black and white, hard window light, and grain left in on purpose.

Colour is a crutch. Strip it out and what is left is shape, contrast and the direction the light came from — which is exactly why this collection was graded last, after the other four were finished, and why it borrows their locations instead of finding new ones.

The grade keeps the grain. Digital noise reduction was switched off deliberately: at 100% you can see it in the shadows, and that texture is the difference between a photograph and a render.
